Orgon is a term coined by the psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957) to define a hypothetical form of energy that described in some experiments published in the late thirties. He stated that the orgon energy (or orgone energy) permeating all space, was blue and that some forms of the disease were the result of impoverishment or block the energy within the body. The term "Orgonite" refers instead to a particular material that was the product of several observations made by independent researchers in the 80s, the Austrian Karl Welz and the American Don Croft.
The word "Orgonitis" was coined by the same Welz but usually it is also considered the inventor.
Specifically this researcher found that small fragments of metal suspended in the cured epoxy resin produced a material whose effect is very similar to that experienced by Reich in his orgone accumulators (ORAC) consisting of a superposition of layers of organic materials and metal sheets.
To the mixture of resin and metal is usually added to a quartz crystal.
Welz also realized that this material also had the important feature to clean up and transform the dreaded negative orgone (DOR, Deadly Orgone) in Orgone positive (OR) for the benefit of all living beings.
According to this theory the matrix composed of resin and metal fragments attracts and concentrated orgone energy present in the environment, after which the quartz crystal gives Orgon its original vibration. Every Orgonitis of Il Crogiuolo is unique and prepared manually.
