Isis, or Isis or Isi,[1] in the Egyptian language Aset (transliterated 3s.t) or seat,[2] is an Egyptian divinity belonging to the religion of ancient Egypt. Goddess of life, healing, fertility and magic, she is originally from Behbeit el-Hagar, in the Nile Delta. Originally celestial deity, associated with royalty for having been primarily the personification of the throne[2] as shown by his cartouche which includes the hieroglyph “throne”, he was part of the Ennead. Isis was one of the principal goddesses of ancient Egyptian religion, whose cult spread throughout the Greco-Roman world.
