The marvelous plaster statue of Santisima Muerte, one of the most celebrated Mexican spells whose fame has crossed the borders of that country. In Mexico the cult of Saint Muerte takes consistency and spreads every day more. This tradition combines Catholic practices with ancient funerary beliefs of the Aztec people, in a unique form of syncretism where religion, spirituality, faith and brujeria (witchcraft) become an inseparable one in a mystical crucible of great emotional reach.
In addition, like other syncretic boundary religious phenomena (such as Cuban santeria in the United States, or quimbanda cult of Brazilian metropolises), it is expressed as a symbol of power and subversive class rebellion against dominant white classes. His religious nature therefore transcends true spirituality, assuming a great sociological reach.
