The Baphomet is an enigmatic figure with the head of the goat, which is found in several examples in the history of occultism. By the Knights Templar of the Middle Ages, the Masons of the nineteenth century, to modern currents of occultism, Baphomet has never ceased to create controversy around him.
The term Baphomet occurs for the first time in the process verbal against the Knights Templar; during the suppression of the order it was supported by the Inquisition that the knights would use a Baphomet as part of their initiation ceremonies. This fact, among other assertions, meant that their religious order was accused of heresy and idolatry and its members persecuted.
The image of Baphomet played admirably on this ring is inspired by the one built by Eliphas Levi in his Dogme text and ritual of high magic.
