The Baphomet is an enigmatic figure with the head of the goat, which is found in several examples in the history of occultism. By the Knights Templar of the Middle Ages, the Masons of the nineteenth century, to modern currents of occultism, Baphomet has never ceased to create controversy around him.
The term Baphomet occurs for the first time in the process verbal against the Knights Templar; during the suppression of the order it was supported by the Inquisition that the knights would use a Baphomet as part of their initiation ceremonies.
